Devotees offer ‘tharpanam’ on ‘Adi amavasai’

On the occassion of ‘Adi Amavasai’, thousand sof devotees took a holy bath in Agni Theertham sea near Sri Ramanathaswami Temple in Rameshwaram. The devotees also offers Tharpanam to their forefathers.

Strict security arrangements were made to tackle rush as the Aadi Perukku and Guru Peyarchi coincided on the auspicious new moon day. The pilgrims started to rush to the temple from Monday night itself to take dip early morning and offer worship in the temple. At 3 am the temple gates were opened.
